FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

5/10/2003San Francisco, CA

LIBERTY BOUND” IS CANNES BOUND

Independent Filmmaker, Christine Rose, is preparing her fist feature-length politically motivated feature film for release. “Liberty Bound” takes an entertaining, tongue-in-cheek look, at America’s on-going struggle to keep a comfortable balance between democracy, capitalism and fascism.

Some of the country’s most brilliant and vocal historians and social commentators are concerned that we may be slipping into empire status. Their fears are echoed in the lives of some of the travelers Christine meets on her journey across the country in search of the meaning of liberty. Some people expressed a loss of personal freedom. One even insists on remaining anonymous, although most still feel confident in exercising their freedom of speech.

Bravery overcomes fear. Ignorance is countered by knowledge. Propaganda and rhetoric can only work if we let them.

“Liberty Bound” leaves us with the question: “Is the United States bound for liberty – or does it just have liberty bound?

Christine set out to answer these questions on her quest across America:

  • Are there elements of fascism in our society?
  • Do the Americans know what their government is doing?
  • Are we losing our civil liberties?
  • How has the media affected our opinions on what’s happening?

Interviews by some well-known authors and historians answer some questions while raising others.
