SYNOPSIS

Liberty Bound
An Independent Documentary Film about the American Empire

Christine has compiled a selection of unique interviews with concerned citizens, in her
cross-country quest for answers.

”Is the United States bound for liberty - Or does it just have liberty bound?”

Liberty Bound is a horrifying, yet strangely humorous film about the loss of civil liberties and the undermining of democracy in the United States. This film takes a look at the current state of the American Empire, comparing it to former empires, while examining the struggle between democracy and fascism.  This is a film about historic events. It is about courage and fear; ignorance and knowledge; propaganda and rhetoric.

Liberty Bound seeks to answer these questions and more:
_ Are there elements of fascism in our society?
_ Do Americans know what their government is doing?
_ Are we losing our civil liberties?
_ How has the media affected our opinions on what’s happening?

It is shot in the style of Cinema Veritae - what we get is what you see. Through original footage, archived footage and interviews with people such as Howard Zinn, Michael Parenti and Michael Ruppert we explore the state of the union and its ostensible move
toward fascism. We talk with several individuals who have been interrogated by the Secret Service for doing such benign things as sending an email, turning around
during a Bush speech and having a philosophical discussion on a train.
